Was the web site here down today?

A bunch of us from the Pittsburgh area couldn't get on this site today. Was it down? I was able to get on other NCRS chapter sites but not this one. Tried various ways and finally gave up. Dave Kitch alerted me to the problem and I called two other members from our chapter and they couldn't get on either.
I had no trouble surfing the net so to speak except for here. John

I got the following message when attempting to contact tech board, for at least 6 hours duration.

Wayne, Don't know German as I barely know English but by the looks of it the message you got was obscene. I got a similar message when I tried to click on thru other NCRS chapters web sites. Also tried google, explorer, etc. etc. Zilch. So I had to settle for VH's. Yea I will hear about that statement. Thanks for letting us know. KITCH do you see this??? John

Shows you Don that there is life with forums. But it gave me a chance to get some work done. Glad to hear though that my new HP wasn't taking another crap. You haven't lived until you switch PC'c. God the work and aggravation. Geek Squad is a life saver abeit not cheep. John

A little downtime.

Yes we had a bit of downtime yesterday. In spite of what you hear Linux won't run forever with out a glitch. After about 4 years it just wouldn't serve web pages. I could still get email from the server and FTP into the site. Just no pages. Spent about 45 minutes with tech support before they finally rebooted the server. All was well then.

Hope we can go another 4 years or so.

The hosting server belongs to a German company hence the somewhat cryptic error message. The server is in the states, but the parent company isn't. The tech support guy had an accent, but it wasn't German. We live in a very small world these days.

Going to the NHRA Nationals at Indy today so I can sit in the 90 degree sun. You all have a good Holiday too.

John, I work for NHRA. I worked the Indy race. Next time you are at a National event look me up. I am in the fuel testing trailer down by the scales. I would love to give you a tour. Wed.I am headed to Memphis. Dale
