Thermostat

I have an early 62, 250hp 3 speed. Would it have originally come from the factory with a 160 or 180 degree thermostst? Thanks in advance! Jon

I don't think that it was either one. I believe that 1962's originally used a 170 degree thermostat.

Thanks Joe! I don't think I'll find one locally. That's probably why my local parts dealer offered the 160 or the 180. Thanks again! Jon

I don't think that this type thermostat was originally used for 1962.

I'm not sure too for 62 but early C1's did. my 55 does and other years ??????

1955 definitely originally used this type. I believe this style was used for passenger car and Corvette applications through about 1957, possibly a year or two later. They were also used for some truck applications at least through 1962.
