Jeremy, there are many variations of the A212CW air filter. The one I have pictured and collected for my car may be one year only (square mesh at 45* angles) for 66 corvettes and chevelles. I have certainly seen a lot more older elements that are configured with horizontal and vertical square mesh. Another difference is the lettering or lack of on the elements. The one pictured does not have any white lettering on it. The letters AC TYPE A212 CW are embossed on top of the plastisol. Notice the solder joints at each crossover of the exterior wire as it creates a square. I have looked for about 2 years to find the one I have. My search included Hemmings, Driveline, Bloomington, Carlisle and a daily check of Ebay. I found two of them and the 5K element was never considered. Sometimes the hunt (challenge) is more exciting than the find, but I'm glad I continued the hunt in this case.
