News via e-mail from London states the host hotel for September's Flight 2000 event has a meager eight rooms left in the NCRS ('National Corvette') block and the rest of the hotel is SOLD OUT.... Since the lads scheduled things for the weekend of September 8th at Leeds Castle and this is a hoopla vintage car celebration weekend (MANY activities associated with other marque cars in the area, hot air ballooning, Etc.), if you were toying with the idea of going over (or traveling from Europe to England to attend) it's time to commit and nail down a room in your name....

2002 Convention
Since Dale mentioned Monterey, does anyone know if a location has been selected for the 2002 convention yet? It's never too early to make reservations and I'd like to know if the convention will be close to my favorite lodgings.

Re: 2002 Convention
Hey Mark. 2002 at Monterey is what I'm talking about. I'm probably gonna pitch a tent on the lawn of the Doubletree Inn at those prices. I can bring the charcoal grill, cooler, and portable potty. Tie up my dog to the flagpole. That'll beat the parking garage where I stayed last time!

Re: 2002 Convention
There are some great places up there, like the BIG SUR INN, 70-80$ per night, log cabin style etc. Lets get someone in the area to scope out the motels etc. We don't have to stay at the Hdqrtrs. hotel. Dale, you can bunk in with Howard and split the cost!!! Bob

HOWARD
Howard always makes me wait five or six months before paying his share. Then there's the phone calls! I have to count the towels every morning and also, talk about snoring! Sounds like a megaheard of major pissed africanized killer bees in the middle of an all-night steel mill! Good thing I'm almost as deaf as Howard! He's my buddy so I can say things like this!

TALK TO YOUR DIRECTOR
I'm pretty shure that it's the Doubletree Inn as always. My spies have told me that the NCRS Board of Directors is negotiating at present for reasonable rates. My Director is Kieth Biggers. You should contact your Director and make your views known. Most of us NCRS peons forget that we each have a voice in National affairs through our Director. Vinnie Peters, in addition to being a Director, is Vice President of NCRS. He's always answered my requests for direction and would be a good one in whom to confide your desires. These guys welcome input from us. How else are they gonna set policy? In a vacuum?

Re: HOWARD HUGE!
Dale, Yes ,I know, Howard does saw those logs! I had the pleasure of sleeping with him (In the same room) last year at the Museum. I have a great set of earplugs! If you don't beat him to sleep, your in BIG trouble! Bob
