67 Brake Lights

Hi,

Took the car in for inspection last week and it failed because the brake lights did not work. They were when I left the house! I've checked the grounds, bulbs, and switch, and all seem to be fine, but I don't seem to be getting power to the switch! I've checked a wiring diagram and it seems to show the power coming off a post on the head light switch. Could this be?
Has anyone else had a similar problem and how did you correct it?

The dimmer switch on the floor DOES act as a common connection point for various exterior lighting runs. You could also have a problem with the connector between the rear lamp harness and the main instrument harness (look behind the LH kick panel)....

Bill -

The stop lamp switch gets its power from the second fuse from the bottom of the fuse block, labeled "Tail - Stop"; check that fuse.

I am having a similar issue with my recently acquired 66. I believe my brake light problem may be in the switch at the brake pedal. They do work, only intermittently. The turn signals and the backup lites do work. However, the parking lites do not work at all. Bulbs all look good, I have cleaned the contacts at the junction of the main harness and the rear harness. The license lite also does not work.
