    1961 "Bowtie" Candidate, 24,000 miles

I have just purchased a "Timecapsule", everything original except tires, and Gen/belt., 24,000 miles.

In 1981, the car only had 2600 miles. That owner went and had it undercoated. How much will that hurt me with Bowtie, NCRS?

Does anyone know of a two-tone, 1961, Autotransmission, with less miles.

Can this be a Bowtie, with Undercoating applied?

    Thanks

As I understand it you would be eligible. You might want to pick up a copy of the "Corvette Judging Reference Manual" at the NCRS store. It outlines all the awards. For Example under Section 8-NCRS-StarAwards for Preservation & NCRS-Chevrolet Bowtie Awards it states "are earned at National Conventions by unrestored cars successfully judged and voted to be historically and educationally significant in any one or more of four areas (Interior, Exterior, Mechanical, Chassis).etc etc.

      Steve--
As a former team leader and leader of the first team in NCRS to ever bowtie judge a car, I can assure you that you will certainly have a shot at a bowtie in spite of the undercoating.

        Mike,

When and where was that Bowtie judging event?

I was a Bowtie judge at Shangri La in 1993.

A restored car was on the Bowtie field. Afterward I went to Dennis Clark and suggested there be some type of screening before a car could be actually entered for Bowtie judging.
