    C-3 6410206

I just picked up a new AC Delco radiator cap for my 1971 LS-5 with Air. The re-pop that I replaced was not holding good any more and I did not want to spend 40 bucks on another. So I wanted one that would at least look better than the square shaped ones, so I thought at least I could still get one close with the AC. The first one they brought out was a modern one with a plastic cap, so that was out. Then the next one they had was a stainless one with the small ears. It says on the cap 15 pounds the box has this part number on it RC26

I know that this is not any where close, and I am just working on a driver but I would like it to look better than the new style caps and not wanting to spend 40 on a re-pop. Question is will this cap work as a functional replacement for that car. It is says 15 pounds on the cap. Joe L, what is your thoughts?

The GM #6410206, aka Delco RC-26, will work just fine. Actually, your car originally used an RC-15 in conjunction with the brass supply tank. However, the RC-15 was discontinued several years ago and replaced by the RC-26. You could always use an RC-26 in place of an RC-15, but it's best not to use an RC-15 in place of an RC-26. I suppose that's why GM chose to discontinue the RC-15 and replace it with the RC-26 which has been around since the late 60's.
