    C-3 instulation

The tunnel foam that goes on the clutch bell housing, can one put that on the car with the engine already in? I cant find my old AIM can someone tell me what glue they used? I am sure it will be a job to put on already in the car, anybody done it on a C-3? Have any tips, other than standing on ones head?

I don't know if the transmission can be lowered enough to install the foam insulation.

Originally the foam was glued to the bell housing before the body was lowered onto the chassis.

Yes, it's a piece of cake to SHOVE the foam collar into place with the engine and tranny installed. Just be persistent, squeezing and pushing from this side then the opposite side....

As Terry said the collar was originally glued onto the bell housing which was a bass-ackward method. It would have been better if the factory had glued the collar to the tranny tunnel such that it staid put when the transmission was dropped for overhaul and/or a clutch job. If/when you have the opportunity to either go frame off or R&R the tranny/clutch, consider reversing the foam collar's glue orientation....

Kelly did you buy a new piece of foam or reinstalling the original piece? If its a new piece what are you using and where did you purchase it? The piece on my 70 came out sometime ago while driving.

It will be new, I have not got it yet. I think that most if not all the suppliers carry it. I am sure doc rebuild and pagaon and corvette central would have it. Just use weather strip cement from 3M the yellow kind? To hold it on?
