1961 serial #43 out there anywhere?

Was my fathers car, sold it in the mid '80's. Just curious if anyone here had or knew of it. Figured since it was a fairly low # car it might stand out. I have some old pictures of it and have some background info on it if current owner was interested.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Well...no... but when he purchased the car in the '70's it had a real deal '65 L84 that he still has to this day. But actually he tells me it was originally a 230hp manual trans car. White w/red interior. I hope it survived the years. Steve

It is probably a red/red FI car by now.

Don't forget ALL ORIGINAL red/red FI car. I'm starting to think the cars without their original drivetrains are the rare ones anymore.

Steve,I was thinking the same thing as I believe I did an FI unit for a car very close to that number. But probably not the same number if you know what I mean.
A funny story concerning one of the funniest NCRS judges I have ever met and that is John Bollard.
I had my white 63 FI car judged for the first time last Sept at the Marlborough regional. Well there was 16 cars in my class. All were lined up outside and Bollard and others were doing the ops. There was a long line of fuel cars and only one carb car. Maybe more I am sure but not in sight. So old Bollard said real loud. Hey DeGregory see that poor guy over there with a carb car. I said yes I do. He said well it's a fake. The damn thing used to be a fuel car and the AH made it a carb car. You had to be there standing in the rain laughing. John

Glad to hear it! I've spoken to you a few times over the years at Carlisle but never introduced myself. This past meet I had inquired about '65 FI top cover bolts (for that engine I spoke of earlier), I had my Mason Dixon t-shirt on which I believe you had asked if I was a member. Man what a scorcher it was there this year! Did you get any damage from the storm? Steve

Hi Steve, Thought of you yesterday when I found a flyer in my shop on 63-65 FI plenum cover bolts in stainless steel. Don't know why they are stainless though as the originals on the assembly line cars were zincad. The NOS ones over the counter were often just bare steel. Anyhow the long 5/16" bolts look real nice in the pics. HP Stainless 3425 Country Haven Circle, Thousand Oaks,CA 91362 Fax: 805-493-8013. Part number SS316-325. No phone number or email. I haven't seen these but the photos looks nice.
You may be able to get them cad plated. In fact I know you can cad plate SS.
Next time let me know who you are. God was with me for sure on the 100 degree Sat afternoon at Corvette Carlisle. Even though my trailer had 5 fans going I was getting sick from the heat as the fans were just blowing hot air. I handed out two cases of water-mostly warm and left the show at 3:10PM. First time in 20 plus years I didn't stay until Sunday afternoon. I was shocked when I heard Sunday morning from the DB here about the tornado. But the good part is no one was killed. Like I said God was with me and I got home safely. Thanks for asking. John
