    Re: In addition...

    Steve,
Thank you for the time saving information, I will also check my reference books, so I can get more familiar with the electrical system.

Very good Jack, this information along with that from the others will also help me follow the electrical schematics. It is very much appreciated.

        Re: In addition...

        Rich -

Every single electrical item in the car from the dome light rearward is connected to ONE common black ground wire that comes forward in the body harness, through the body connector above the driver's side kickpad into the instrument panel harness, into the 3-cavity radio power/ground/lamp connector, and comes back out of the ground wire cavity in that connector as a black pigtail with a ring terminal on it which screws to the bottom of the instrument panel brace to the left of the radio. Really.

          John,
This is very interesting I did not realize this. I will check into this also. I hope it is readily accessible. Thank you.

            Update Re: 1966 signal flasher

I failed to mention my 66 has the optional 4-way flasher unit installed (May not be the actual corvette option version, not sure how to tell). A tech. note from Mr. Jack Humphrey regarding flasher operation discussed this option that I forgot I have because I never use it. I apologize for this omission, I completely forgot about it. This may require a different flasher unit and additional troubleshooting.

Re: Update Re: 1966 signal flasher

Rich - As far as I know, there is no functional difference in the 66 Corvette RPO V74 Traffic Hazard Warning Switch and the SERVICE Hazard Flasher Switch Unit , p/n 986639. Notable exceptions are that the SERVICE part had a mounting bracket and there were difference in the flashers installed in the units. The SERVICE unit came with a Signal-Stat 175 flasher where as the Corvette usually had a Signal-Stat 170 flasher. Pete

I hope I can solve the problem and let others know what caused it. Time to get on with the troubleshooting. Thanks again.
