      Rick,
      When restoring my '67, we reused the original springs after bead blasting them clean and coating them with Coricone (a parafin based clear coating). The front end sat a little low prior to rebuilding the front suspension. Afterward, it was almost exactly back to assembly tolerances. That was in 1994 and the car still sits pretty.

        Interesting, I guess the shocks, bushings etc. gave it a little lift.
