Re: Roy - Gotta give it to ya Thanks Dennis
I've had it for years and don't know how I got it. But then again how would NCRS receive them in judging? Have other pic's of factory original 55's that many would say never happened =color! like the black 54's years ago!- Top

Re: C1???
Roy, I can tell you this about that photo, It was taken in the GM Styling dome courtyard at the GM Tech Center. If you look close you will see two circles, one under the blue car in the center, and one surrounding the guy in the upper center. Those circles are actually turn tables and were used for various internal display showings. I don't know why the glazed tiles look so bad in the photo, but they are actually very good looking octagon shaped tiles.
It's been a very long time, but I run across that photo while doing research when employed by the General.
Never say Never!

"But then again how would NCRS receive them in judging?"
NCRS would receive them GREATFULLY! The club has a separate award/recognition category for cars like this called the American Heritage Award. It's intent is to honor non-production Corvettes that have a bona fide race, styling, engineering prototype history.
In that category (only conducted at National Convention subject to rules of acceptance), the car is expected to be shown in the configuration/dress condition it's 'best known' for. How it originally left the production facility (if it was in-fact built by production...some were hand built and/or modified outside the assembly line) means nothing!
It's when owners put square pegs in round holes (placing 'one-of' Corvettes up for Flight Judging which is for 'production' vehicles) that problem(s) result. There, the car is judged according to 'typical production' standards and these special cars suffer with their unique deviations!- Top

Re: C1???
My other 55 I sold at auction years ago Noland even gave me the factory oil sheet 3x3 (I think they call it) he got from GM showing this color was offered . When we were back East at the 53 to 55 plant before they torn it down we had 4 guys that worked there talking with us //even the painter who was painting Corvettes then said he remembered painting many 55 any color a customer asked just to sell a 55.Remember they only sold 700 because of the 55 T-Bird was a better buy!
Yes me and my 1955 only accessory GM S/S wire covers held on by the wheel lug nuts// rarer then originals.

Re: "Don't know how you got it."? It's directly
Loren..Can't find my copy but this picture is in the back of CORVETTE Star Spangled Sportscar by Ludgvigson as you point out. As I recall these are stying cars not production and the men standing behind the cars are the styling/engineers.
It is a great photo.
