    69 Seat Back stop

My 69 has a June 69 build date. I do not know if the seats are the original but I have no reason to believe they are not. When I re-covered them I noticed that the Seat Back stop looked more like the 70 stop then the 69. The 69 was shown as a rubber bumper that screwed into the bottom of the seat back, on the 70 it is a bolt (5/16-18) with a rubber cap. Both seat backs have the same type of stop the 5/16 -18 bolt. Is this normal for the late 69 car?

My September, 1969 built car has the same seat back stop arrangement as you describe.

Thanks, I had checked with a friend who had a April build date and his were the single bumper with a screw.
Has it been documented as to when this change took place?

Thanks, when I look at the different catalogs to order replacements, they say two sets are required two per seat. I only need one per seat as the bottom cussion uses a screw to hold it on. Is yours the same?

          Again thanks for you help.

Yes, the bottom (seat cushion) uses a round, black plastic bumper with a zinc plated phillips head attaching screw. The top (back rest) uses an adjustable special bolt with hard rubber cushion.

The upper special bolt with bumper is similar to the bolt with bumper used on the lower hood latch bracket. In fact, it is SERVICED by GM with the same part, GM #400765.
