    Joe L re GM# 377595

    Joe:

Is this seat belt/key warning buzzer assembly still available or is there a supercede number? It's a late model C3 (1978) number.

I can find no record of ANY part of GM #377595 as EVER being available in SERVICE. However, there was a buzzer of GM #377596 that once existed. It was used on 1977-79 Corvettes, among other applications. It was discontinued without supercession in January, 1994.

The AIM shows the 377595 as the buzzer assembly but than shows item 2 as 377596 when T63 is specified. Item 2 points to a wire with connector showing connection to the fuse panel. T63 is the headlamp warning buzzer when the ZX2 (convenience group) was ordered.

      thanks.

Apparently, the GM #377595 was a PRODUCTION-only piece. It must have lacked the connector for T-63 installations. For SERVICE, only the 377596 was available. It, apparently, included the connector which would be unused for non-T-63 applications.

In this case, it was cheaper for PRODUCTION to use the 377595 when that was all that was required, but more efficient and cheaper overall for SERVICE to inventory only 1 buzzer.
