    '62 Engine Compartment Black-out

When the engine compartment on a '62 was painted (blacked-out), were the wiring harness "J" clips present? Did the "J" clips get black out paint? If I removed a "J" clip, would I find unpainted fiberglass underneath?

If not, what is the finish on the "J" clips? Were they unpainted steel? Or, were they painted separately?

How do the repro "J" clips judge?

Clips were in place during black out...

...yes, if rotated, bare glass will show. I think the clips may have been dip plainted black before install, but am ready to stand corrected on that issue. I am not aware that C1 judges get heartburn over repro clips, but that's just my take on it...
