I had my 93 Judged last week, in Leavenworth Wa. I had a question asked that I have not been able to answer. The 93 manual Vol. 1 shows the inner fender wheel covers are attached to the hood, by a 5.7 Mn (51in/pds) bolt or screw. The head looks nothing like anything I have ever seen. It appears to be a rivet but the manual calls it a screw or bolt. The head has a round inset with 3 slots spaced around the screw or bolt. Can anyone tell me what type of tool is used to remove these screws or bolts.

Re: C-4 Hood attached wheel covers
I believe they are a form of rivet. I think the tool you would use to remove them would be a drill !Tom Hendricks

Re: C-4 Hood attached wheel covers
I went to my local Chevy dealer on 9-20-07. Their C-4 expert looked at the items and advised the items were rivets. He said the change took place in 92 or 93, and possibly were made on the ZR-1's. For some reason I don't think he was aware of any running changes made in the 90's, and might not be the expert he thinks he is. I need an answer from somone out there, that is positive on these screws, bolts or rivets.- Top
