Cragar SS on 1969 Vette

I'm being told that the classic Cragar SS wheels (15x8) will require a 1/2" spacer for the wheel to clear the brake calipers.
Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, does it present any problems to the car.
I'm looking to buy a set of these for driving after I mount the new F70-15 Firestone Wide-O-Vals on my stock rims (for show & judging).

Yes, I've bought them, but haven't mounted them and have spoke with Coker about returning them, which will not be a problem.
I've found Kelsey sales Goodyears, correct era, etc. Is that who you had in mine?
I've had my car judged 3 years ago and lost 15 of the 30 originality points because I have "modern" Goodyears on it.

Do you know what the difference between the Goodyears you mention and the Firestones are, as far as judging goes?

I'd find wheels that fit before I'd use 1/2" spacers, which will dramatically increase the bending and shear loads on the lug studs, especially under heavy acceleration and hard braking.
