I tried the archives with little success. Does anyone have some comments about Herlinger Corvette Repair in Mountain View, CA? I have some engine work and other minor work needed on one of my LS-6's.

Dave is very good at trailing arms, diffs, and transmissions. Also suspensions. Be prepared to talk (i.e. listen) for a while!- Top

Re: Corvette repair shop
Actually, I have a bad camshaft lobe and lifter. I have hunted down an NOS GM camshaft & lifters and looking for a good shop to do the swap. At the price and difficulty of finding the parts I don't trust myself to replace this camshaft and have something go awry, as it would be damn difficult to replace the parts.- Top

I've never had any work done there (or, virtually anywhere else, for that matter, since I have always pretty much done everything myself). However, Dave has been in business for a LONG time----I'd say at least 25 years. To stay in business that long, you've got to be doing something right. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Yes, I agree with that, too. Pat's been in business for over 25 years. In fact, it's one of the few shops that's ever touched my 1969. I've had them do every front/rear alignment for the past 25 years----one of the few things I can't do (with precision) myself.
Another great shop is Carter's Corvette in Livermore, CA. They don't do alignments, though. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
