    C4 Targa Top

    Hi,

    Would anyone be able to tell me how to distinguish a factory fiberglass (not the see-through acrylic) targa top from an aftermarket unit.

      Actually, I am not even aware that anyone makes (or, ever made) an aftermarket fiberglass panel assembly for C4 Corvettes.

              I'll bet they are a lot rarer than used originals. A lot of C4's have "contributed" their tops to the used market when they were otherwise wrecked. Folks requiring a used fiberglass top would be pretty much limited to those whose car was originally ordered with a glass top only and later desired a "solid" panel, those who didn't secure their tops properly and had them "fly off", or those who had their tops stolen. My guess is that there would be enough used originals out there to satisfy those demands. Maybe not, though.

                      Found one in Louisville KY
                      Having it shipped to Canada. Will keep you in mind if someone else needs one.
                      Still not sure how to distinguish factory from aftermarket top.
                      Melrose and Astro both make them now.
