Maybe I'm not aware of something here, but this doesn't seem right to me. I received a rebuilt fuel pump for a 1965 327 from one of the large corvette parts supply houses. It was described in their catalog as having the 4657 stamp. The pump I received has no AC stamp or 4657 stamp in the casting. Instead, it has an aluminum tag fastened by one of the assembly screws that has the numbers 4657 and 365P stamped into it. This pump sold for about $100. A similar pump w/o the 4657 stamp in this catalog is around $30. I thought the correct pumps all had the AC stamp in the casting. Did I pay $70 to have them attach an aluminum tag to a replacement part that isn't at all correct?

Re: mid-year fuel pumps w/o casting stamp correct?
Thanks for the insight Dale. I don't feel that bad since I can send it back to them by prepaid freight. A broader question is, are the other supply houses also selling these as the real deal? Or, are they the actual rebuilds? Anybody know?- Top

Jim, Dale's right, as usual! I would like you to write Noland Adams. He is presently doing consumer report type articles in Cars and Parts Corvette magazine. This is in this month's issue, He is asking people who get skrewed to write and tell him ALL the details. Maybe we can run some of these guys out of business!
