I have a 1966 Coupe that from all indications is a 425 HP car (fuel lines, rear code and date, LB cluster, F41 suspension, sway bars, etc. Using the Corvette Birthdate program it's B-day is July 8th. It came with some 858 heads with dates of June 22 & 28, 1966. Is it possible that these are the original heads or are the dates too close to the car's birthdate?
Also it looks like the factory ground off the casting numbers on the top of the heads and stamped on them the '67 part number XXXX391. The xxxx858 casting number is still on the back of the heads. I'm assuming in preparation for the '67's. Do folks still think these are the original heads for the car? Thanks for your advice.
