Re: Locking lug nut bag - 89'
The JG is incorrect, the bag was not used in '89 as the theftlock is proviced by the use of a special wrench needed to open the cover over the nuts. (No special nuts=no bad required) This is clearly covered in the parts book, and the Judging team leader is aware of the issue. The wording in the manual was carried over from previous years and has not yet been updated.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Locking lug nut bag - 89'
Sorry to hear you got docked, but I can understand that is one of the problems at chapter events where the knowledge level is not as high and there may be an issue with the Judging Guide. I would expect the team leader at a regional or national level to be aware of the error and you should not have a problem if you bring it to the attentiion of the team leader. If you have a copy of the parts manual page with the relavent info it helps, if not, email me amd I'll make a copy of what I sent Alan when were were discussing it vs my car. Re: Locking lug nut bag - 89'
88 had two wheels, the standard wheel package had exposed nuts and used the locks. The optional wheels are the same as '89 and use the locking cover over the nuts with the special wrench, different setup than the ones with the locking nuts.Bill Clupper #618- Top
