    Joe Lucia Question

    What are the dimensions and type for screw # 9427713?
    Is it black anodized, sheet metal style, what head type and color so i can try to find soem at hardware store.

    As far as I can tell, GM #9427713 was a PRODUCTION-only fastener and I have no specifications for it. What is the application? I may be able to come up with information based upon that.

      1968 Coupe left and right interior pillars that hold the courtesy ligh:
      These screws hold these "pillars under the rear window, one on each side under the rear window glass. The another piece of trim goes over that and runs horizontally below the pop out window and hides these scres. Mine are missing

        I have no specific information on these fasteners. However, based upon the application, I'd say that they were likely flat, countersunk phillips head screws and likely of size 8 with a thread length of about 1/2"-1". The finish was almost certainly black phosphate or black oxide. You can purchase similar screws in good hardware stores, but they'll be zinc or chrome plated. Paint them with Quanta's black oxide spray paint and they'll be closer than they need to be. These screws are not even visible after installation is complete.

            In 1970 they are used to fasten front console, both sides (UPC 1 Sheet E4), perhaps in 68 is the same and you may have a sample at hand.
