horn..

Can someone tell me where to start and what to look for in trouble shooting a horn that don't work. My 75's horn does not work when i press the button..Not sure if it worked before...Don't want to just change everything if not really necessary.

Start by powering the horn directly to rule out a faulty horn relay and/or horn contact switch in the steering column. The very best way to do this is to remove the horn(s) and apply battery voltage directly to it as this addresses two failure modes at once (bad relay to horn power lead + bad horn to body ground contact).

Ken,

Just went through this on a 69 Corvette.
As Jack suggested, test the horn first by directly connecting to battery power.
If the horn works, move to the horn relay and activate it by direct battery power.
If that works, check the wire to the steering column, is it attached to the relay, is it plugged into the steering column wiring plug, is there 12 volts there. If everything checks out to there, ground that wire and the horn should work. It it works to there you have to dig into the steering column.

Under the hood you can get battery power off the horn relay or the back of the alternator.
