C-1 Window felts or whiskers

I purchased what is supposed to be a set of original GM window whisker trim for my 1961. I matched them up against the originals and every thing seems the same except for the diameter of the stainless trim, the replacement set seems to have a slightly smaller diameter and the end that meets the front vertical trim is "V" shape. What are differences between the earlier whiskers 1956 to 1958 and the later type.

the horizontal whiskers available from GM in the 70's and onward till they were discontinued had an outside diameter of the stainless bead which was less than the original whiskers stainless beads.if you examine the current repros, you'll note that there are TWO stainless beads on a whisker. originals had a single stainless bead and it was of a large enough inside diameter to slip over the outside deameters of the stainless beads of the vertical channels. mike
