Does frame undercoating affect a bowtie award? Not that it matters, the car is a 24K mile 61. Thanks DG

Re: Bowtie Judging
yes, dealer/owner installed undercoating will have negative effect on a bowtie judging experience. mike- Top

Re: Bowtie Judging
Thanks for the reply Mike. The current owner is wondering if he should try to remove the undecoating. My first thought is, not to touch this car if it is a true low mile car. I may see this car tonight. I have experience with the Survivor type car, but not Bowite. I received a Bloomington Gold Survivor Award for my old 67 years ago. Thanks DG- Top

Re: Bowtie Judging & undercoating woes.
Dick, In my area Grabiak Chevrolet was a big time Corvette dealer in it's days. Still is today also. Yenko's was about an hour away from Grabiaks. Standard dealer prep was undercoating ALL new Corvettes unless you were lucky enough to catch them before hand if you didn't want it. I remember my 66BB had the floor pan covered with that crap and we thought it was a good thing since in those days we drove the cars all year long. Clem Z should agree with this also. Clem chirp in here please as you lived at the dealership as I recall.
So how do you then have a Bowtie car if you bought it from our dealers Dr. Mike and others??? The answer could be that we at NCRS set judging standards and the car either lives up to the standards or it doesn't. Bowtie cars are not my forte so I don't know much about them except that I helped build a couple. John- Top
