My 67 Marlboro Maroon (code688) is at the paint shop. Base and clear. The painter mixed a small batch of paint directly from the eight part base code directions supplied by the manufacturer. But the color looks wrong. Looks more like Milano Maroon. The last midyear he did, in fact, was a 66 Milano Maroon. The ingredients and amounts are clearly different, so it's not just a case of the code being for the wrong year.
The paint brand is RM. Can anyone offer some suggestions? He's got a call back into the supplier, and has also suggested he might be able to match the color against some chips. Though I'm not very comfortable with that approach. Even though there is some virgin paint from where the carpets had been. Thanks. Jake
