    waterless car wash

what is everyones opinion on these waterless car/wax washes
on a recent shopping channel the product was indorsed by amer. corvette club
it seems to me that there may be particles of dirt on the car that may scratch the paint if no water is used

It works WELL and my experience is it doesn't scratch. But, I've always washed the exterior conventionally (soap and water), then let THOROUGHLY air dry....

I have used one of these products (Dri Wash & Guard by Enviro Tech) since I have owned the car 10+ years. It is the only thing besides the california duster that I use on the body and glass. The paint does not get scratched. I feel it has served me very well.

a well known NCRS friend of mine had just finished his black '56 restoration and was showing it at Waco for the first time. Inside under the lights you could see every polishing swirl that hadn't been visible outside or in his garage. Everything was tried. Lots of dollars spent at NAPA, etc. for polishing products that morning. One of our Chapter members had some of the Dri Wash product. Dri Wash (sp?) removed all of the swirls and didn't scratch the lacquer paint job. FWITW, Dri Wash worked outstandingly well in this instance. Gary....

            About the only drawback...

I've seen is it tends to leave a 'greasey' feel to the exterior finish vs. the hard/smooth feel of a conventional wax & buff. But, most simply look (vs. touch) the car's exterior...
