The application of the GM #1100028 generator is 1954 passenger car and some 1954-55 trucks. It is a 6 volt generator and of 40 amp output. I would say that the date code indicates this one was manufactured on August 24, 1954. So, it was likely used in a 1955 truck or it was a SERVICE generator. It's of Delco type 28-U.

I don't have any idea of the value of it.
