C4 alternator

Hi,
I have an '88 vette built on July 4, 1988.
Car was originally equipped with the 105 amp. alternator.
I am looking for an original replacement unit.
Would anyone know the original GM part number and date code that I should be looking for?
Any possible sources for such an item would be greatly appreciated as well.

I believe that the original alternator for your application was GM #1101264. Any unit with a date code within 6 months prior to the build date of your car would be NCRS-acceptable.

The GM #1101264 was never available in SERVICE; it was used in PRODUCTION only. For SERVICE, GM supplied only remanufactured units. As usual, these may or may not have the same stamped-in part number as original. Most of the time, they will not, though.

The current GM remanufactured SERVICE alternator is GM #10463097, aka Delco #321-388.

The date code format is in your Judging Guide, in the "Mechanical" section, under "Alternator".
