The right side horn (A note), in my 93 ZR-1, took a dump at the NW Regional. I want to have it repaired. Can one of the experts, out in NCRS land, let my know who can preform this kind of repair. Also, is anyone out there that can rebuild the rear glass, gas struts, in my 93, so they will lift all the way to the top without assistance, this for my PV.

Dennis Portka of Hamburg, NY may be able to repair your horn. I don't know if he repairs C4 horns, or not, though. Otherwise, if you want a functional, if not "correct", horn for your application, order a GM #12368063. As far as I know, functionality is all that's important for PV. Very rarely are SERVICE horns exactly like the originals.
As far as the gas struts go, I know of no one that rebuilds or repairs them. They sort of fall into the same category as shock absorbers. The current GM replacements are configured very close to the originals, but have a different part number on them. They are GM #10255661, left side, and GM #10255662, right side. About 70 bucks, each, GM list.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 93 "A" Note Horn
Joe,
I got a call from Dennis this afternoon. He said he has not had many horns in the 90's. He will be making up some of the parts from his stock. He was very nice, I look forward to the results. Thanks again for the help. Tom Barr had given me the same info, but I could not locate the paper I wrote it on.- Top

Re: 93 "A" Note Horn
Ed,
You can use any brand rear hatch struts for PV. They do not check part numbers, just that they crisply lift the rear hatch glass. I purchase a set from GM and they are a slightly different configuration. However, I would expect a point(s) deduction for flight judging. I PV'd my car with replacements (I don't think the GM ones are worth the money) and put the originals back in for flight judging. Some what of an inconvenience, but no deducts were received when flight judged.
