Re: Well?????
Hmmm, Roy, I think you're overheating, it's at 230 degrees and you're not even moving. Oh, I get it, you shorted the sender wire to ground and it pegged.:-)
Wait a minute, I think I get it, is that 51-52 pontiac gauge the same part used in early C1's, say 53-55 Corvette?

Re: Well????? "Rich" notice the time
Good thing it's morning and I had my coffee so I'm awake now.....Ok, it's 10:30 by the Pontiac? dash clock. The gauge is reading 2(:)30. That means the Pontiac is in California, and the gauge is in Nova Scotia......I Don't Knooooooow.
You got me on this one. I really thought it was a part# game. The suspense is killing me! I give up.- Top

Yeah, But...
They also used other "off the shelf" parts like the Blue Flame six, the Powerslide and the Stovebolt chassis in those early shoestring designs...I'm certainly glad they decided to spend a few bucks more and correct those mistakes.
Hey, don't be so hard on the newer "fandangles" lack of commonality...virtually every GM product, be it modest or expensive, has the exact same steering wheel as the Corvette; well...maybe not the Caddys. Who wudda' thunk coming up with unique steering wheels for each product line would be so difficult and expensive...I'm really surprised the other car makers can do it.
BTW, that has to be YOUR Pontiac, Roy...it has the dealer accessory "light finder" on the dash.- Top

Re: Yeah, But...
Oh Yea, No fair. I can't see a windshield cover in the photo! If I saw it I'd have known that.:-)
I should've know it was "accessory" related. But I still don't get it. What did you mean by "look at the clock", Roy. Please refrain from any *NM* answers! :-) :-) :-)
And.....I wouldn't call a 59 and a 62 one of them "newfangle" Corvettes. I have parts on mine from the 3's-5's, like the whole frame!
