    C2 radio and power antenna

I would appreciate any recommendations on a repair / restoration service facility that specializes in repair of a 1966 stock FM radio and power antenna. All responses are appreciated. Especially interested in a business where quality service was experienced. Thank you.

You won't find one place to do both the power antenna and the radio. Both issued have been discussed at length before and you should find prior threads by searching the archives. One note: be ready for 'sticker shock' on the antenna rebuild, the service is NOT cheap!

      Rich,
Regarding the power antenna. The pwr ant for my '65 was restored by Greg Thompson in Shawnee, KS. It looks beautiful and authentic. I have not powered it up yet, but I expect the operation to be perfect. His restoration cost is considerably less than others. He advertises in the Driveline so you should be able to find his number. If not, I can find it for you.

      Regards,
      Gene

        C2 power antenna

I just received my 66 antenna back from Jack Thompson at C2powerantenna.com and it looks great. Haven't had time to install but service and turn around was top notch. Cost was $400.00 plus shipping. I saved my old mask and tip for comparison and I can't see any differences.

I had my AM FM radio from my 65 restored by S&M Electro-Tech in Blaine MN. It took about 6 weeks to get it back. May have taken this long since I did it in spring. I would recommend them to do your radio. They can restore or modernize it if you want.

Our local chapter recently invited the owner of Fred's Classic Auto Radios and Clocks in Lenexa, Kansas to put on a presentation about his services and it was very impressive. You can contact him at 913-599-2303 or his website www.FredsClassicRadios.com. His specialty is 1947 thru 1977 U.S. produced radios and clocks. He has a tremendous inventory of old parts.
