    DRLs on a C2 - Restorer Article

I very much appreciated the article published by Charles Cadenhead in the latest issue of the "Restorer". I did something very similar to a 1979 moons ago with Hella Optilux 1500 lamps behind the grille on a 1979. Safety in driving is definitely an issue and to this day those DRLs are still working on the car. I will provide a pic.

But with respect to Charles and his initiative, there is another option. The pic shows DRLs on my 1967. A module provides for lighting up the turn signal (bright) filaments of the parking lamps. The conversion is about $40.00 from a company in Ohio. You tap into the parking lamp pig-tail and not the front harness. Easily reversible. Just a comment and an option.

        Hmmm! "Corvette Restorer" :0

Just a sign of the times when the journal for the NCRS now discusses how to modify your Corvette to non-factory status, the science behind aftermarket connecting rods, etc. Hey! How about an article on how to add a Paxton supercharger to a C4?

Modifing Corvettes and there components has been going on for years . But I would rather read about original cars and restorations. How to check & restore original rods, cranks etc. Or how to REMOVE DRLs & prepare your lighting system for judging . I know Wayne is a engine man I read all his articles in Vette Vues and other mags in the past. I would like to see him have an multi part article on restoring a BB or small block to factory specs. using & reusing as many original parts as poss.to get true horsepower ,performance & sound . We dont want to make this the National Corvette Improvement Society ...Bill.... ps this does not apply to ex race cars or farm use cars .

                  Would you...

Like to see an article on the "death race 2000" car pictured in the thread a few spaces down? I think the photo would make a great cover for the next issue!

In all seriousness, until an editor is hired permanently, I plan on making the magazine a "members" magazine...that is if I get articles...I really need articles, as there were very few in the items forwarded to me when Wayne stepped down.
