What are correct casting date codes for the engine block of my 1955 Corvette s/n 1639? Build date of vehicle is November, 1955
I understand both the date and the casting location (Tonawanda or Flint) are part of the code

look for a august, sept or oct 1955 cast date. avoid the tonowanda 265 blocks. they have a double digit for the year vs a single digit for the year of a Flint block.casting # on drivers side of blocks bellhousing flange whereas the casting date is on pas side of flange.mike
