1959 paint question

On my 1959 Crown Sapphire/Turquoise car I noticed my cockpit appeared to have the body colour (Crown Sapphire blue) paint instead of interior colour paint (Turquoise). Is this how it suppose to be? What about the steering wheel collar colour and the steering column and its cup? Should these be exterior or interior colour in this combo?

What about the middle column in the interior (with the radio and heater/fan control knobs), interior or exterior colour, same for package tray? I'm a bit puzzled about this now and just want to double check.

With other colour combo's it is much more clear (e.g. black/red and white/red, every thing should be interior colour but since Turquoise was not used body colour in that year I'm confused if this colour was ever shot on any parts at all?

Everything in the interior that is painted is painted the interior color. But back in those days I suppose if someone wanted to order it differently I'm sure the General would paint it any way you wanted. Worked at a Chevy store in the early 60's and saw a lot of out of the ordinary things came from the factory.

The cockpit should not be painted with the Crown Sapphire used on the exterior.

The interior components: package tray, radio console, steering wheel collar and cup should be turquoise. The steering column is black. The shade of the interior turquoise is considerably different than that used on the exterior.

The center divider with the glove box is painted body color, not interior color.
