Can anyone advise me regarding the installation of the chrome tips on the headlight bezels. I have not had any success trying to attach these two pieces together.

Re: 62 headlight bezels
I had always carefully peened the small pins that hold them on.Put the extension on the bezel, then put the extension side down on a block of wood.So that the pins are looking right up at you as you look down at the work bench. This sometimes work best with a helper.Have them hold the piece firmly to the wood and strike the pins with a ball peen hammer or hammer and punch.Good luck!- Top

Re: 62 headlight bezels
Gene,
If the pins are gone:
1) Use a wax-and grease remover on the paint.
2) Carefully rough up the paint where the tip will go with 400 grit.
3) Rough up the inside of the tip with a dremel tool.
4) Glue the tip to the bezel with JB weld or some other epoxy adhesive.

WHAT'S A BEZEL?
The correct name for this component is "DOOR"! Can you beleive it? HEADLAMP DOORS! IN 1962! The tips are "EXTENSIONS".
Place the door upside down, install the extensions and beat the #%*@ out of them with a hammer; or else glue them on like Bob says!
