    C2 Under Dash Insulation Installation

Before I glue down the underdash insulation and the black formed deadener, can someone tell me if I need to route or install something else first. I really don't want to rip this stuff up later to route something under it. For example, does the PW cable go under one or both sets of this material. Are the wires to the foot switch routed under the black stuff. Most of this will probably be self evident once I get into it, but if there are any nuances I'd appreciate knowing those. Thanks for any advice.

Bob, 1 thing is make sure all the clips are riveted on the firewall.

Wires for "foot switch" go under (Mar64 car), however one can do that after the fact with ease.

            Bob,
The firewall insulation is held on with rubber plugs not glued.

The upper dash insulation was glued to the back side of the plenum (photo below), and the heavy formed black dash mat below it on the vertical surface was installed with the push-in rubber fasteners.

Re: C2 Under Dash Insulation Installation

The wool like material (similar to under the carpet) glued at the top area is typical more of a sound deadner (engine noise) where as the fiber type attached to the chip board and held on with rubber plugs is more for heat insulation. There shouldn't be much heat above the wiper motor area as there is around the bell housing and near the exhaust.
