It would be great if they turned you loose on the high banked track for a photo shoot. That part of Milford was made famous by the Duntov/MacDonald/Thompson promotional film for the new '63 Corvette. Deja Vu!

One thing to avoid in a vintage Corvette are the "Belgian Blocks" unless you want to rattle every screw loose in your car.

We drove there at the national covention in Warren in 92 ,it was awesome. The Corvette engineers came in during their annual vacation for a technology show and tell and a barbecue cookout. We drove on many of the tracks including the high bank....no high speed runs were allowed though.

I'll tell you once that's nailed down.

Right now I hope it's "all of them."

Given the heightened security since 9/11, just being able to visit at all is a rare treat. We're hoping to mimic what we did in 1992, though I wouldn't plan on an on-site BBQ.
Do plan on a great road tour and a wonderful breakfast, though.

Duke, I've heard that the Belgian Block track has been redesigned and is no longer. I guess they are doing that type of testing via computer nowadays.I will be talking to someone at the grounds tomorrow and will inquire further.

            patrick,
Don't forget the new track built inside the truck loop...it simulates part of the Nurburgring in Germany.

              John,

              We're not forgetting anything.
However, what GM lets us drive on....

Yes, the new track will be part of our tour. The new track replaced what was called the Truck loop.

Duke, Yes the blocks are all still there........see you just can't trust rumors.

Thanks, Art, and let us know if anyone dares to run on them. Beware if you have a lot of old tooth fillings.

Oh, I doubt if they will take us on the passenger type one, which is nasty, but it doesn't even come close to the punishment that truck loop (which they just got rid of)course could dish out.

The seven sisters course would be a blast though.:)

If the rumor mill is correct GM will not have any need for a truck track. Rumor has it that they are in serious talks about selling the Medium Duty line to Navistar. GM made the statement back in the spring that they wanted to get back to their core business, manufacturing cars and pickups.

Dick, actually GM redesigned the truck track a few years ago, 2 or 3 as I recall, and I think it was because it wasn't used very often for Medium duty truck testing anyway.
Yep, I do think that the rumor mill COULD have some validity in this regard.

It would be great to have a 53 or two on the track for some pictures going around like "back in the day". I plan on being there with #245 and maybe another, weather permitting.
