C2 '66 BB starter 1107365 nose and armature ID

I have uncovered this starter motor housing in a pile of partially disassembled units we have, and I do not know how to ID the correct nose and armature. They are in the mess somewhere, but I need to know what I'm looking for. Any pictures or methods of identification would be great! Thank you!

    Steve------

AS FAR AS I KNOW, the photos shown below is the nose used on the GM #1100365 starter. However, I have heard reports of another nose being used which has some unused starter bolt hole or holes. If so, I have no information on that nose. This is the one that GM says was used. Of course, that does not mean that it was used or was used for every 1107365 starter ever made. This nose is manufactured of cast iron and, as far as I've been told, so is the other "extra hole" nose.

      Armature

This is a GM #1965724 armature. There are a few other armature part numbers that will work, but they are of this configuration. There are also several other VERY similar armatures that will NOT work. I know it's hard to see all the nuances of this armature in the photo, but that's how it came out.

The really critical features are those on the SHAFT end of the armature.

        Lever

It's also critical that the proper lever be used. This is the one you need. Most other configuration levers will NOT work for your application.

          Re: Lever

Wow! Now that's service! Thank you very much! I'll study those pictures and start digging through the pile, hopefully I will find the rest of it. I also have a starter that I took off a '69 Impala 427 that I could use parts from if they were to be the same. I checked the numbers on that starter and it appears to be a reman. unit as the motor housing numbers come up as a '65 Pontiac starter, so it really is only good for parts anyhow. If you think of anything else to look for, please post the details, but at any rate thanks again for those pics! Steve
