My original Holley carb (List# 4801) on my '71 LT-1 is acting up and needs to be rebuilt. Is there a modern day replacement Holley carb that I can put on in its place while I have the original off. Will the replacement have the same set up so that I do not have to cahnge anything on the car. I just want to bolt it on, adjust and go.

Re: '71 LT-1 Holley carb List#4801
Nope - In Texas and I plan to have it in Waco for my regional Founder's requirement. So that is why I am looking for anything that will work right now. After the show I will have more time to have it rebuilt.- Top

Other than "restoration" type Holley carbs, there are NO Holley carbs available that will have a divorced choke like your application uses. Otherwise, there are several Holley carbs available with electric choke that you could adapt to your application. Or, you can use a model with no choke; you might not need one.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: '71 LT-1 Holley carb List#4801
David one carb you can use is Holley 650 0-4777C double pumper that will bolt on your LT-1 intake and has manual choke. Have one on my ZZ1 crate engine in my 70. The ZZ1 was the last ZZ crate engine to use an aluminum intake very much like the original LT-1. Really like the total control of when the secondaries are used and how you can use partial or all of the secondaries. You don't really need it, but a 750 is available also. You might just like the double pumper that you will save your original from wear.- Top
