    63 Vette Heater Y Duct

I need a heater Y duct for my 63 vette restoration, but these are not being reproduced. Apparently the 63 heater Y duct is different than the 64-67 vette heater ducts. Is there a source for these anywhere? Or does someone have a drawing for the 63 heater Y duct so that I could make one? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your responses.

My only suggestion would be to scour the boards, adds, driveline, or any other source you can come up with. Paragon has one (part 11858 I believe) for $125, but I haven't seen any reproductions that are close to the originals. I don't have any suggestions to find a good original other than to play detective and find one out there.

I think I remember seeing in the AIM that there was also a sort of "nozzle" that comes off the driver's side of the duct to direct the air toward the foot / pedal area. Let me know if you find one of these, as I would like to have one myself!

Paragon's site if you need it is:
    www.corvette-paragon.com

I seem to remember a story in the Restorer while I was editor (1999-2005) that showed how to rebuild the Y duct. I think it was for a 1963, but I do have NCRS disease. There might be enough pictures there for you to make one, or contact the author and see if he has any measurements left from his project.

I did find the article in the Corvette Restorer that you mentioned. Titled
"Mid-Year Corvette Y-Duct Repair", Spring 03, Air Conditioning System". Would someone have a copy of that article? Please email me at LMa1939@aol.com if you have a copy that you could send me. Thanks a lot for your help. Larry

Larry, there is also another 63 only part for the heater system. There is a short piece of duct work that attaches on the left side of the heater box just above the Y-duct that send air to the driver leg area. That part is also hard to find.

            Larry,
To make things more complicated, there are two styles of the 1963 Y duct. One is shown in the 1963 Shop Manual.
