Anyone know the % of male corvette owners vs. % of female corvette owners in the NCRS? Just wondering....Marty

    Re: MEMBERSHIP

If you are married and live in community property state (and I believe only a few states are not "community property"), each spouse owns half the Corvette regardless of whose name is on the title unless you have a prenuptial agreement that specifies separate property or you inherited your Corvette and maintain it as separate property.

I believe that NCRS membership is the "family type" where both spouses and minor children are considered members under one membership number. Singles don't get a discount.

      Duke...You Must Have...

Either matrimony or divorce at the front of your mind. (Considering a pre-nup, Duke?)

I believe Marty was asking how many men owned Corvettes, versus how many women owned Corvettes...NOT how many women will get their husband's Corvette in the divorce proceedings. (ROFL)

I agree with Duke, my wife is not a memeber but she goes to the events with me. And yes she does own half of the vette.I think it is pretty much a family organization as Duke said.

Yes, we share the Corvette. Her half is behind the grab bar. My half is behind the wheel.

            Re: MEMBERSHIP

I think that is typical. I've told this story before, but one GF many years ago kept bugging me about driving my Corvette. I finally relented and let her try it out - 340 HP SHP engine, CR trans, 3.08 axle, non-power metallic brakes, quick clutch ratio setting, quick (non-power) steering setting. After killing it a couple of times trying to get going she made it about two blocks before turning it back over to me. She decided that the right seat was much better than the left seat.

Typical performance optioned Corvettes are definitely not "girl's cars".

I've never been married, but I have friends working on their third divorce. If I ever decide to get married at this point in my life I should probably be committed.

You're lucky Duke. I can't get my wife out from behind the wheel of our convertible when we go out for a ride, at least she pays for the gas!.... Marty

                      Re: Duke...You Must Have...

Somehow, I was pretty sure that was the case...maybe you told me that in previous ocnversation. I thought maybe you had found the perfect woman, and you were trying to figure out the "automotive asset" contingencies.

To answer your question, Marty, I doubt such statistics are easily available to the public...I can't recall having seen that info. I'm sure GM has a marketing "skunk works" that knows that information for late models, but it won't be published unless there is some corporate benefit to be gained, e.g background information for an interview or magazine article about Corvette ownership.

The name, and implied sex, of new owners is probably public record whenever a new vehicle is titled and registered...Locally (Texas), I get addressed mail with all kinds of solicitations that could only come from such information. However, historical info for past years is virtually impossible to get in some states as some members discover.

NCRS memberships are, indeed, family memberships, but I'm pretty sure that like your bank account, the primary member, or the one that filled out the application is the one of record, and they receive all the mail. If said member is the woman of the house, the NCRS records will show her as the primary member in my opinion. The family benefits only include the whole family being admitted to NCRS activties for single member price...ole hubby's name is entered in the "spouse name" line.

As to NCRS maintaining a tally of primary members by sex, I don't know if this is maintained for any reason, but is probably easily obtainable from the member database. I don't know that said info will be developed for, and shared with the membership, but there wouldn't seem to be any harm in transmitting personal information that is essentially anonymous. You would have to contact the leadership if this is a critical interest.

Duke, So now I see why you are able to play with the Corvettes so much. Confirmed bachelor I see. Ah common Duke try it a couple of time as u'll like it. I mean you haven't lived until you have given up a garage full of your favorite toys to your other half, also 1/2 of what you own, and also 1/2 of your sole or soul. Actally both type soles. heeee. Hey at least I can laugh a little now. Just costs more to laugh. JD
