C2-66 gas tank anti squeak pads

When replacing pads which surface is facing down on frame. Replacement pads have
two different surfaces, one is almost smooth and the other is somewhat rough.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

    Eddie -

That's because the replacements are made from roofing felt; the originals were the same on both sides (and were about twice the thickness of the roofing felt replacements). I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the reply John. I know I am not building a concours car but I like
to try to do things correctly. I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to install the pad on the rear frame rail. Should the pad be installed in one piece or cut into sections. I can't see how to install over the tank strap
hold hooks in the frame. I have looked everwhere for a guide. The AIM seems
to show the pad installed in sections.

      Thanks for you help.

        Eddie -

I responded this morning directly to the e-mail you sent me, but it "bounced" from your msn.com address as "user unknown". The rearmost anti-squeak pad (on the frame crossmember) is three pieces, and the forward one (on the bolt-in support) is one piece.

Thanks John, sorry about the previous email with the wrong email. Somehow I
ended up with two profiles. That account is old and now with some help from the administator on the this board I hope I have it straightened out. I also sent another email from the correct profile. Just ignore and I really appreciate the help to this newbie. Hopefully in the future I can get this posting thing figured out.
