On a '56, does the hood ledge weather strip (at the rear of the hood) adhere to the body or the hood?? I have yet to see a picture of this. I assume that it is glued in place where ever it goes.

Glued to the hood edge. Make sure it's turned in the proper direction.

Thanks, Wayne. Can I assume the proper direction is so that the protruding bump mates with the indentation on the body ledge?? (ie, the protruding bump would be toward the rear of the car.)

Correct orientation of the weatherstrip is shown in the Assembly Manual - section 11, sheet 6.00.
