I have a pretty nice black soft top on my 67 vert but the window isn't heat stamped. Is it possible to that after installation or is it a process that occurs before the window is even mated to the top? Also, is it possible to re-sew the tag back on? I can see the white remnants of where it once was. Thanks.

Re: Heatstamp Soft Top After Installed
I've not heard of anyone offering a soft top rear window dating service for tops that are already installed. Since some later era GM service replacement soft tops were undated, it's NOT that bad of a 'hit' in terms of scoring on the judging field. I think I'd live with what's there until it's time to naturally replace it...
On the rear window tag, what you have is common. The original tags were pretty fragile and DID tear at the junction where they were stitched in, ESPECIALLY if the car was driven with the top up and the tag was allowed to flutter in the wind.
The 'fix' is to buy a reproduction tag and install it ONLY for show purposes. Use a THIN bead of something like clear RTV (silicone bathtub caulk) on the lower edge of the replacement tag before the car is judged and you ought to get full credit. Places like Paragon have replacement soft top tags in their catalogs.- Top
