Can I safely jack my 1962 from under the lower control arm? My floor jack is too tall to fit under the frame rail from the side, and I do not think it is safe to jack from under the third arm.
Raising your car using the third arm risks breaking it.
You can make a "tool" out of an oak 4x4. Cut the length to fit between front bumper braces. Cut a notch out to clear the third arm so the 4x4 lifts on the cross member. You can use pine but it will probably split after a few uses. My oak tool has lasted a long time.
