    A C2 nut and a coin

John and others ---- I remember talking with some knowledgeable people last January during the Winter Regional Meet about reproduction v assembly line wingnuts and recall that, I believe, a nickle should fit between the ears of the original wingnuts. If you try the nickle ($0.05) fitting between the ears of the reproduction wingnut, it will not fit. Now, if someone has a press and tools to expand the slot between the wingnut ears of a repop, how would the judges react? They would probably fall back to the metal thickness which, in all repops I've seen, is too thick when compared directly with an original wingnut. JMHO and my 2 cents.

joe, tried to email but cannot find a way to attach pics from this site---wing nut 1 is smaller than the rest and a clone to the rfi shielding wing nuts with the exception of a threaded hole vs a stud---phil

There were still some to be found in the 'Junque' boxes at Carlisle in August. 2 with fair chrome, 1 with poor chrome and 2 that looked like they had never been plated. Slight variations even in these oldies. 6 dollars cash money. Will these be any help for my poor retirement fund?

Posted for Phil. All three of the large ones look correct to me. Not sure what the application was for the small one.
