This is what the real #076 original vacuum advance looks like have a brass clip with an end nut which can be removed to change the timing curve

          Loren,
Generally I agree with you but recently I sold some 54 courtesy lights on E Bay and the buyer picked them up at my home. To my surprise he was 35 years old! He has a 54 basket case that he's restoring at home himself (sounds like a lot of us 25 years back)and he went on for quite a while about how "Cool" he thought the six cylinder cars were. Refreshing. I took our '54 to a local cruise night a while back and had several people ask me what kind of car it was. One guy got in a heated discussion with another guy who was absolutely positive the Corvette never came with a 6 cylinder "truck" motor. Someone else thought it was a kit car. Many appreciated the fact that I didn't have it stored in a hermetically sealed vacuum chamber with blacked out windows meaning it would never see the light of day. Drive 'em.

That's funny I get just the opposite saying I took the 6 out and added a V8 in my 55.
