Re: Dateline: Bloomington. DB Gets the Boot!!!
I just arrived home in St. Louis from Bloomington, Saturday, 6:30pm. I left several hours after attending the meeting of DB regulars scheduled for 10:00am this morning. I started to the car when the rains came. There was a Tornado Saturday night that threatened to blow the entire place away. There was some wind and water damage to the outdoor displays, but everyone seemed to have survived the night. The DB meeting was a hoot. Rev. Varooom was more or less chairing this rag tag group. Meeting at the NCRS booth, we promptly moved over to and took over a corner table in Mid America Designs display, not to the delight of their employees. But, Mike Yeager finally came over and said we all seemed like nice people with the exception of Dale, so he was asked to leave. It was all in good fun, and we owe Mike a sincere "thank you" for the use of his space. Nothing serious discussed, several prople had the audacity to actually discuss Corvettes!! It was fun to finally put a face with some of these very knowledgable people. We all exchanged assorted numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses and left before Mike really did throw us out. Dale has a list of everyone who attended, so look for a colorful follow-up editiorial. The last time I saw The Rev, he had requsitioned (Army parlance) someone's golf cart and was "reviewing the troops" in the judging paddocks.- Top

GREAT FRIENDS
That's what you'all are! Really great freiends and I love ya! The REV is back!I really enjoyed the meeting. We ought to form a splinter group, Discussion Board Dandies or something like that. We could accumulate points to get a black hat that says, "MASTER B.S. ARTIST" (not to be confused with Master Judge) We could award prizes for, B.S. Artist of the year, Novice B.S. Artist, Expert B.S. artist, etc. We could even award personality prizes. I'd nominate Dennis Tracy, Dr. Rebuild and R.L. Williams for starters. What do ya think?

Thank you Mike Yeager
The NDB assembled, (11 of us), around a round table with Mid America catalogs and order forms with a pen next to each chair. After a while an employee-supervisor came over and asked, "Do you folks need help filling out the order forms?" I said, "No, not really, all of us can read and write". A few minutes later he appeared and said, "Can I get you anything?" I said, "Well, coffee and doughnuts would be OK" He responded, (obviously pissed) "Coffee and doughnuts are on the other side of the building". I said, "That's too far to walk". Next Mike Yeager appeared!
Mike has ALWAYS been a great supporter of NCRS. Not only is he the owner of Mid America, but he's a Corvette hobby guy as well. He has a wonderful collection of very rare Corvettes and is one of my favorite friends. He instantly sized up eeting and gave it his blessing. I'd like to encourage all of us to thank Mike the next time we see him or through the mail. The best thank you would patronage of Mid America. He's got great stuff at the right prices with super delivery.
THANKS MIKE YEAGER

Re: Dateline: Bloomington. WET!
All,
Just got back tonight from the wettest Bloomington I've ever been to (since 88), although I know there were wetter ones in the mid 80's.
It was good to see Joe Lucia again as well as Lou Lapham, and meet Dale in person as well as Dave and others. I hope many of the rest of you get a chance to meet at the National Meet, even though I am unable to make it this year.
I'm leaving now for almost two weeks. Hope you can act like adults (!) whie I'm gone!

Re: Its Yager, Not Yeager
Hello Lou and Dale and Joe and Patrick and everyone else. I misspelled Mike's last name in my earlier posting. It is YAGER, no E. It's bad enough that we took over his display space, I don't want to be responsible for sending him "thank you" messages with his name misspelled!!- Top
